SUE WELFARE
PAINTER + PRINTMAKER
Working from her own sketches and photos, Sue Welfare is inspired by the varied coast and countryside of Norfolk, gardens, birds and the rich colour and chaos of domestic life.
A self-taught artist and printmaker living and working in west Norfolk, Sue rediscovered her love of colour, texture and design during a morning’s rag-rug workshop eight years ago. Since then she has gone on to explore mosaics, glass, handmade felt, textiles, papercuts and printmaking, revisiting ideas using a variety of techniques and media.
Sue’s work will be exhibited alongside 24 other artists at the west Norfolk taster exhibition, as part of Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios 2019.
