ALAN WITLEY
GRAPHIC ARTIST
Born and bred in Norfolk, Alan Witley studied for three years at the London School of Printing and Graphic Arts.
After retiring in 2004, having spent over 50 years in the fine art and specialist book printing business, he began
producing his own images, combining the facets of art, photography and print.
He uses a wide variety of media and techniques, and retains the original artwork from which he creates the limited editions in his studio using lightfast matt inks on heavyweight conservation watercolour paper on canvas. This enables him to have complete control over the whole process of print making from conception of the original idea to printing, varnishing, mounting and framing of the final picture.
Alan’s work will be exhibited alongside 24 other artists at the west Norfolk taster exhibition, as part of Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios 2019.
