JULIE CLARK

PAINTER + SCULPTOR

Julie’s journey into art began after surviving a subarachnoid haemorrhage, and while adapting to a complete change of life.

Working with a mostly limited palette, she likes to experiment with textures and a variety of materials. Her aim is to convey and capture light, atmosphere and movement in a loose, flowing, suggestive style.

She’s especially interested in the natural environment and our connection (or disconnection) to it.

The sea, in particular, is a recurring theme, and features prominently in her work. The beautiful and ever-changing Norfolk coast is a great source of inspiration.

Julie regularly exhibits with the West Norfolk Artists’ Association and her paintings and small sculptures have been featured in exhibitions and galleries in the UK and overseas.

Julie’s work will be exhibited alongside 24 other artists at the west Norfolk taster exhibition, as part of Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios 2019.
